Free Your Inner Wild Child! A Message From the Universe

Spiritual & practical guidance for the week ahead :)

Feeling a little restless, apathetic, or uninspired? Or maybe you’ve been so focused on your responsibilities that there is little else in your life besides the sleep that is never quite enough. It’s also possible that the change of seasons could have you dealing with a little extra depression and anxiety. There seems to be an overall energy of irritability as well.

It’s time to let your wild child out to play!

Get out there in nature and feel the autumn winds or spring breeze swirl around you like a mischievous spirit. Get together with your naughtiest friend and howl at the moon! Go dancing, make a bonfire, have a game night, or get lost on the back roads. You know that thing you would love to do, but it doesn’t seem practical? Do that thing!

We have somehow relegated fun to the bottom of our priority list and made that a way of life. We silence that wild child within, then wonder why she causes so much trouble. The unheard inner child is the seed of self-sabotage and bears the remedy for what you’ve been struggling with. Starving her only means she will be ravenous and relentless - causing problems at the worst of times and leading to excess and other unhealthy behaviors.

If you’re partnered up, make sure to be wild together.

Doing so may help to ease some of the tension or monotony the two of you may have been experiencing. Your fun and ferality should not come at a cost to others, and others should not be allowed to smother your spark.

If there is a conversation to be had, stand firm in your boundaries, but make a little extra effort to be kind and understand your partner’s point of view. Don’t make any important decisions when emotions are high, and remember that any disagreements you might have are not about who wins - it’s about finding a solution that works for both of you.

This is also a great time to release something you’ve had an unhealthy attachment to, and maybe dive deep into your journal. Ask yourself what you’re struggling with, then keep asking why until you get to the core of it. Ask yourself what you need right now and brainstorm alternative ways to fulfill that need.

The conversation around journaling tends toward the positive and problem-solving, but it is also a great way to purge. There may be a thought that purging your negative feelings may call in more negativity, but that’s simply not true. Purge your heart out on that paper! You may even want to burn it when you’re done, and visualize those problems going up with the smoke.

What is something you’ve always wanted to do, but didn’t think it practical? What is something you miss doing that you feel you don’t have time for? When was the last time you truly laughed out loud or moved your body to music that enthralls you? It’s time to free that wild child 💙
