Hellooooooo beautiful soul!!
It’s been a few months since my last newsletter, so I have a lot to share!
Why Has It Been So Long?
I have arthritis in my hands and wrists that has been rapidly getting worse - recent labs indicate it is likely rheumatoid arthritis. Thankfully, I started a new med that seems to be helping a little, and just yesterday, my doctor increased the dose. I now have a little more “production” time before my hands start acting up.
Because of the RA and other chronic health issues, I have been doing the absolute minimum for some time now. I’m exhausted. I will continue to share my weekly Messages From the Universe, and anything else will happen as I am able.
Please forgive me for such limited interaction here on Substack. I have always struggled with leaving comments and creating notes that introduce the amazing work of others that I restack. I’m currently struggling with this a lot more than usual and will prioritize it again before too long.
What’s New with Guru?
I changed the format of my messages!
I have been experimenting with different ways to create videos for the past year and, a few months back, started filming myself reading the messages. If you’ve been with me for a while, you might know just how challenging this has been for me.
I thought it was important for y’all to see the person behind the words and, of course, figured my goofy face would reach more people than without.
It’s weird to have to look at yourself so much, but I’m getting used to it! I try to present the real me, using a slight filter on the days when I’m looking and feeling especially rough.
Happy Autumn Sale!
You get the first crack at this one! I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for sticking with me when I’m inconsistent and almost invisible 💙

Books
I want to, again, share a free library app with you - it’s called “Libby.”
Most US libraries participate, though some use other apps, and it’s available worldwide. Open the app, add your library card, and that’s it! You now have access to all the digital books, audiobooks, and magazines that your library has.
Many libraries allow you to request a card directly from the app, and most libraries allow you to request one from their site.
Down With the System: A Memoir (of Sorts), by Serj Tankien
“In Down With the System, Serj presents readers with a memoir that is far more than just a rock 'n' roll fable. It's an immigrant's tale, it’s an activist's awakening, and it's a spiritual journey from darkness toward light. And all of this comes down to the fact that Serj himself has had the chance to live an extraordinary life—thanks to a combination of luck, circumstance, struggle, talent, and spiritual awakening.
Born to Armenian parents in Beirut, Serj grows up hearing bombs drop outside his childhood home during the country’s civil war, before moving to Los Angeles at the age of seven. As a young man, he is immersed in the SoCal community of “Little Armenia,” learning more and more about the brutal genocide faced by his ancestors while helping his parents adapt to the constraints and contradictions of the American Dream.”
I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, by Maya Angelo
“Sent by their mother to live with their devout, self-sufficient grandmother in a small Southern town, Maya and her brother, Bailey, endure the ache of abandonment and the prejudice of the local “powhitetrash.” At eight years old and back at her mother’s side in St. Louis, Maya is attacked by a man many times her age—and must live with the consequences for a lifetime.
Years later, in San Francisco, Maya learns that love towards herself, the kindness of others, her own strong spirit, and the ideas of great authors (“I met and fell in love with William Shakespeare”) will allow her to be free rather than imprisoned.”
ACOTAR series, by Sarah Maas
(Reread to prep for the new one coming out this month!)
“Feyre is a huntress. She thinks nothing of slaughtering a wolf to capture its prey. But, like all mortals, she fears what lingers beyond the forest. And she will learn that taking the life of a magical creature comes at a high price . . .”
Dark Tower Series, by Stephen King
(Also rereading in anticipation for “Other Worlds Than These,” which joins his Dark Tower and Talisman (below) worlds. I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am for this - totally geeked 😂😂😂
“The Dark Tower series tells the story of Roland Deschain, Mid-World’s last gunslinger, who is traveling southeast across Mid-World’s post-apocalyptic landscape, searching for the powerful but elusive magical edifice known as The Dark Tower. Located in the fey region of End-World, amid a sea of singing red roses, the Dark Tower is the nexus point of the time-space continuum. It is the heart of all worlds, but it is also under threat. Someone, or something, is using the evil technology of the Great Old Ones to destroy it.”
The Talisman & Black House, by Stephen King and Peter Straub
